Free Software Review

In the Internet there are some good programs available for free. Freeware, as they are called, mostly correspond to the open source software type. One word of WARNING to the Internet beginners, you should be very cautious and investigate BEFORE downloading any free programs. They might contain spyware and adware hidden in them. This will affect your computer performance, your privacy and get you in trouble.
Below are some recommended freeware and shareware programs that have been tested and used by myself, and have been found safe as well as useful. They are freeware at the present time:
Firefox browser
The new safe browser from Mozilla, free source code that is now available in 19 languages, for Windows, MacOS X and Linux. Get Thunderbird the email program that is also free.
The Free Site
aims to list all the top free products, services and offers available on the Web in one convenient site. Unless you're brand new to the Net, you likely have discovered the fact that the world of cyberspace is a great place to get free stuff. Here is a round up of the latest freebies.
Good Keywords Pad
Good Keywords is a Windows software for finding the perfect set of keywords for your web pages. Knowing the right keywords to target is very important because your site should provide what people are searching for. You can use the Good Keywords Pad as a meta tag creation tool. Keep adding the keywords you need into the Keyword Pad available within the software. Once you are done, a simple click will get you the required keyword meta tag ready to be pasted into your HTML file.
HTML-Kit
Editor program for building HTML web pages. There is a free version and also a paid version.
Irfanview
Excellent for processing images and graphics, totally free.
Opera browser
Another great, fast and safe web browser for your smartphone.
SiteUptime
Free website monitoring service that watches your website 24/7/365 and notifies you if it becomes unavailable (goes down).
Spybot
A very good spyware destroyer.
Statcounter
A free yet reliable invisible web tracker, highly configurable hit counter and real-time detailed web stats. Insert a simple piece of our code on your web page and you will be able to analyse and monitor all the visitors to your website in real-time!
CORE FTP
This is a free, secure FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client that allows you a fast, easy, reliable way to update and maintain your website via FTP. It also provides a secure method (via SSL, FTPS, HTTPS, or SFTP) to upload / download files to and FTP servers. There are no popup ads, advertising or spyware and you're never asked or reminded to register.
For those of you who would like to protect your computer with a good free program, check the Avast website. There is a free version and a paid version. Both are great and will protect your computer from virus and other bad things.
